Kevin Maguire is an Irish Visual Artist living in the heart of the Boyne Valley in County Louth, a graduate from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
In his Art practice materials are important to putting his objectives across in using different forms he creates the potential of movement in shapes, layers and patterns. In many of his pieces of Art the containment of the material is a feature and the vessel is used as a device.
In his sculpture he is exploring issues such as restriction and confinement whilst offering reassurance for the viewer in how his work is both transparent and open in an attempt to capture the ephemeral nature of change expressed through solid enduring objects.
His Art is about producing objects which can be both aesthetically stimulating and can evoke conversation, by using vessels in his work he is attempting to take the viewer on a journey.
